Last updated: 22/01/2026 These Terms and Conditions apply to all work carried out by Decorator Edinburgh (“we”, “us”, “our”) for our clients (“you”, “your”). By accepting a quote or instructing us to proceed with work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. 1. Quotes and Pricing 1.1 All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. 1.2 Quotes are based on the information provided at the time of inspection or enquiry. 1.3 If additional work is requested or unforeseen issues arise (e.g. hidden damage, poor underlying surfaces), we will discuss and agree any price changes before proceeding. 1.4 All prices are in GBP unless stated otherwise. 2. Booking and Scheduling 2.1 Start dates are agreed in advance and are subject to availability. 2.2 While we aim to meet all agreed schedules, dates may change due to weather, illness, supply delays, or unforeseen circumstances. 2.3 We will always communicate any changes as soon as reasonably possible. 3. Payments 3.1 Payment terms will be stated on your quote or invoice. 3.2 Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due upon completion of the work. 3.3 Late payments may incur reasonable recovery costs and/or interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (for business clients). 4. Changes to the Scope of Work 4.1 Any changes or additions to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing. 4.2 Additional work will be charged separately at an agreed rate or price. 5. Preparation and Access 5.1 You agree to provide reasonable access to the property during agreed working hours. 5.2 We ask that rooms and areas to be decorated are cleared as much as possible before work begins. 5.3 We are not responsible for delays caused by lack of access, obstructions, or incomplete preparation by the client. 6. Protection and Care 6.1 We take reasonable care to protect floors, furniture, and surfaces while work is carried out. 6.2 You accept that some dust and minor disturbance is unavoidable during decorating work. 6.3 We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or defects to surfaces, fixtures, or fittings. 7. Materials and Paint 7.1 Unless otherwise agreed, we may supply all paints and materials as part of the quote. 7.2 Where you supply your own materials or paints, we are not responsible for the performance, durability, or finish quality of those products. 7.3 Any defects or failures caused by customer-supplied materials are excluded from our warranty. 8. Workmanship and Warranty 8.1 We aim to carry out all work with reasonable skill and care in accordance with industry standards. 8.2 Any concerns or defects must be reported within 7 days of completion. 8.3 We will inspect and, where appropriate, remedy genuine workmanship faults within a reasonable timeframe. 8.4 This warranty does not cover: Normal wear and tear Structural movement or damp issues Damage caused by third parties Failure of underlying surfaces or previous coatings 9. Cancellations 9.1 You may cancel a booking by giving at least 48 hours’ notice. 9.2 Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a reasonable cancellation charge to cover lost time and costs. 9.3 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule work due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case any deposits paid will be refunded. 10. Health and Safety 10.1 We operate in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations. 10.2 You agree to keep children, pets, and unauthorised persons away from work areas for safety reasons. 11. Liability 11.1 We hold public liability insurance. 11.2 Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. 11.3 We are not liable for: Indirect or consequential losses Loss of business or earnings Delays caused by factors outside our control 12. Complaints and Disputes 12.1 Any complaints should be raised in writing as soon as possible. 12.2 We will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues amicably and promptly. 12.3 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. 13. Privacy 13.1 We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 13.2 Your information will only be used to provide our services and communicate with you. 14. Acceptance of Terms By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, or allowing work to begin, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
